Communication Award for Newport Surf Club

Newport Surf Club has won the Communications Award at the Surf Life Saving Northern Beaches Awards held at the Dee Why RSL Club in June. Sasha's John Guthrie, the club's publicity officer accepted the prestigious award on behalf of the club.

Communications are very important for Newport with a membership of over 1250 members. The communications campaign has included the reinvigoration of a four page newsletter which is posted out to members and is also available on line.

The club also enjoyed considerable coverage in the local media including the Manly Daily.

Knock Down Rebuild a Hit With Home Buyers

With very little land available in Sydney's established suburbs home buyers are joining the trend towards knocking down and old home and replacing it with a brand new one. Sasha is achieving great media coverage for stories based on KDR projects, for HomeWorld builders, using before and after photos to great effect.

Interviews of families, who have taken on a KDR, are revealing some really interesting human interest tales. KDRs are actually more economical per square metre than renovating.

Surf Club Honour for John

Sasha's Principal, John Guthrie, has been awarded "Committeeman of The Year" by the Newport Surf Club on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Needless to say John is the Publicity Officer for the Club and has lifted the club's image in the local media as well as producing a regular four page newsletter.

Newport, which celebrated its centenary in 2009, is a thriving surf club with over 1250 members, including Nippers. John has had a long association with the club and has served as President and is involved in the organisation of the Pool to Peak Ocean Swim held each year on 2 January.

Design Studio

Sasha has just implemented a publicity campaign for the new Austral Bricks Design Studio in the heart of the Sydney CBD. The campaign included close liaison with consumer and trade media as well as home and architectural magazines.

The media release for the Design Studio launch invoked the theme "Bricks in The City" and Austral Bricks organised a gala launch night.

The initial response to the launch has been great and various media outlets have called for more images as well information and interviews.
